Finalist – Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Metro) in Western Australia
The Water Corporations Tamworth Hill Pump Station needed a control system upgrade to reliably operate at maximum capacity, allowing increased water production from southern water sources. In collaboration with Guidera O’Connor (GO) and SPIN Group, a ‘Plug-and-Play’ upgrade was achieved using the FluidSpace™ simulation system together with SPIN’s SIMIT (Siemens) virtual control system simulation to develop and test the control logic prior to installation.
This project demonstrates the benefits of using a responsive ‘digital water’ twin in control system design and testing as well as provides proof-of-concept for derisking the development of more highly automated control systems in the future.
